THE ROXY MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA

(This is a profile shot of The Roxy Theater. If you notice on the right corner there is a mural, it's kind of hard to miss.)

I remember being amped up for this investigation the entire week. It was a pretty exciting feel knowing what could possibly lie ahead. That in just a few days I would begin officialy in my dream career. I am always up for a talk on the paramormal and going out to a location. As long as I have the free time and money.

At approximately 5:45 PM on Saturday June 2nd, 2012 me, Tena, and BJ piled into John's car and headed out. We started the drive talking about the video cameras on the stop lights and the conspiracies behind them. Then John, BJ, and I began adamantly swapping experiences. Which in turn led to John and BJ showing off their EVP's. Which if you ever have the opportunity to investigate with John, you will realize how strong of a knack he has for EVP's. Tena and John explained to BJ and I about Boosty their residential ghost. Recently John and I are toying with idea that Boosty came from my house or Ken Boyer's property next door to me. We think this because John had never come in contact with Boosty until after his investigation at my house. We still haven't confirmed this. John plans on doing another Ghost Box session to see if there's any truth in it.

We made a quick pit stop in Seminole county at the Shell station there. So we could take a bathroom break and to grab some eaterings. While we were there I encountered some hitch hiking Bohemian Hipsters trying to make it to the last day of Rocklahoma in Pryor. I don't know if they ever made it, hopefully while playing 'Who looks the safest', they didn't wind up in a scenario similar to a horror film.

At seven o'clock on the dot we made it to The Roxy theater. I was super excited to meet Cathy, Dawn, and a few others for the first time. I also began to start my feeling out process before entering the theater. I really didn't get anything except for a hug from Cathy and Dawn. Yet after entering The Roxy I slowly began to feel what I call my "Dezzy Sense". Where my abdomen on up begins feeling tingly. I seperated from the group to do a personal tour, winding up in the stage area, and totally fixated at the ceiling. What struck me as odd was the ceiling in the main seating. It wasn't flat with sound pockets or domed. Instead it was pointed, triangular waves with sound pockets. At the time I thought I was fascinated with it because of it's oddity. Looking back now after the sensations I received, I realize I was picking up somebody's great dislike of it.

Around this point I had to sit down. My upper body had one massive electric current running through it. Almost like being electroshocked yet without the pain and my ears felt as if they were about to pop. This is when I met Oscar Ray a local celebrity. Oscar is known for short films, and various other projects. He inquired about what I was feeling, while Leif with MuskogeeNow.com who was behind me, used what I was feeling as an update. I believe he quoted everyone else correctly, but took a few things Cathy said out of context. When reporting you should record what your subject is saying so that you can quote them verbatim. Not assume that you are by bits and pieces that you choose to hear. Selective hearing can get you in trouble from some interviews.
I believe the oddest thing about Leif is he freely gushed about being a Free Mason and divulged alot of loose bits of information. I know a few Free Masons personally and from my understanding being a Free Mason is like being in Fight Club. The contenders aren't allowed to talk about Fight Club. I am hoping that Leif doesn't cause personal chaos for himself within the fraternal order.

Shortly after having a discusiion with Oscar about "Not really knowing people" and the tragic story of his friend's inner demons. I made my way upstairs to see what some of the members were up to. They were mainly setting up the equipment in the soundboard area upstairs or having a look around. I had a woman who worked for the city and who was watching the investigation open a locked door which we wedged open with a metal pipe. The room was apart of the third floor hidden seating and beyond that was the projector room. The third floor hidden seating was stifling hot because it had no air conditioning. It was also thickly coated in dust. Christian, Dawn, John, Tena, and Bj met me up there. We continued our base readings and looking for hidden areas. While searching for hidden nooks and crannies in the projector room, I found a chain running along the ceiling and disappearing into the wall. Everyone else was just as curious as I was and had me pull it. When pulled the chain opened up the air ducts and there was a hook in the wall to hook the chain to. So that you could keep the ventilation open. I also found a dumb waiter that was used to haul up film to the projector room instead of lugging it up countless stairs.

I joined Cathy and Oscar in a discussion about the after life and Oscar's first paranormal experiences. After listening to Oscar talk and seeing how he expresses himself. I realized that Oscar is an enjoyable person to be around. He gets down on your level while still being real and himself. He is very intelligent, articulate, and attentive. After swapping personal theories on time travel, akashic records (ironically one of the Free Mason's idealogies), and the goings on of the after life. We went outside to do a photo shoot manned by Oscar. Oscar set us up and us pose underneath The Roxy's neon sign. What was even cooler was that there was a full moon that night. Although Oscar got some beautiful shots, a couple of members were cut out.

(From left to right: Dawn Caban, Destiny Gonzalez, John Longan, Cathy Nance, BJ Riggs, and Christian Borthick)

We then went inside and took a few pictures on stage. Which in this one we managed to get all of the members thankfully. I think I look fat, I don't like this picture too much.

(In this picture from left to right is: Destiny Gonzalez, Dawn Caban, John Longan, Tena King, BJ Riggs, Cathy Nance, Christian Borthick, and Marc Hall)

After the photo shoot was completed our team of eight split into two groups of four. John, Tena, Bj, and I were on one team. Cathy, Chris, Dawn, and Marc were on the other. Our team was given the upstairs section, while the other team was given the downstairs section. We went into the the third floor hidden seating and asked the basic questions while John used the real time recorder. During the EVP session John captured the voices of a female and male in their late teens or early twenties. I had asked them if they knew that they were dead and on real time they responded with the female first saying, "Yeah." And then the male saying, "Yeah." What is even more creepy is that in one of the photos taken by a Muskogee Reporter. There are two faces to the right of Tena belonging to a man and woman. Also above Tena's head there is a face.

(This is the picture with the three faces. You can see Tena sitting and Oscar filming behind her. BJ and I are there, but we were doing an EVP session at the time. This picture was also on the MuskogeeNow website, you can find that article here: http://muskogeenow.com/story.php?id=2371 )

One of the main things about the third floor hidden seating are the metal rafters above. When we first entered the room there was no sound coming from up there until after a few moments of being up there. BJ and I tried to come up with a scientific explanation for that. Was it birds? Squirrels? Mice or rats? Wind? Street traffic? Nothing added up though, the noise didn't start until you entered the room, and stopped as soon as you left.

I decided to break off from the group and head into the projector room to see what I could get on the K2. Other than the Ghost Box, I am in love with the K2. During the time John was having complications with the Ghost Box. He was in the projector room trying his damnedest to get it to work. I walked around trying to communicate with something because other than the craziness in the rafters, and the real time recorder. We really had nothing so far. I didn't manage to get anything up there. John had left and went to Walmart. BJ had left and as I was heading down the stairs to the third floor hidden seating Tena was leaving. But before she left the K2 went crazy, all the lights lit up, and then began jumping around. I told her to hurry and get BJ or John. It was 30 seconds later when BJ came in and I told him what was happening. He and I sat down and began asking questions. We were told that the spirit had been there since The Roxy was built, that they were between fifteen and twenty years old. Also that there are ten spirits at The Roxy. Which could be quite possible, since it was built in 1948. During that session I began feeling tingly again and after the session as I walked off I felt something rub my arm which only intensified the sensation.

BJ and I decided to take a quick bathroom break. When we came back we received a hit on the K2 in nearly the same area as the first one on the steps leading to the projector room. John and Tena came back in. Around that time whoever was talking to us wanted me alone in the backroom of the projector room. Everyone else gave the thumbs up and so I went. As soon as I sat down I felt something enter the room, take a few steps, and sit down. It didn't want to talk on the K2, and opted for knocking on the wall. Tena didn't want me by myself so she came in and stood in the corner. I asked that since The Roxy was built during the segragation era if it liked "colored people". It didn't respond. I asked if it disliked them. It responded with a loud thud. I asked if Oscar's presence bothered it. It responded with another knock. I then proceeded to ask. Do you want Oscar to leave? It knocked in answer to the question. Since I was getting physical responses to questions I asked for it to show itself. A few seconds later an orb about the size of a golf ball that was white and shimmery appeared. In the area it appeared there was an audible bang on the pipe in the corner. As if it were confirming that it was there.

We decided to take another break. As I was exiting the bathroom I heard what sounded like a man clearing his throat. I asked some of the guys in the hall if they made a similar sound. They told me "NO" that they hadn't. As I made my way into the third floor hidden seating, I heard the clearing of the voice again. It almost reminded me of the old time movies of the movie usher's getting a patron's attention. Or a waiter getting a diner's attention. There was nobody there except for BJ and he was way up in the seating. We got some activity on the K2 just confirming that they were there, but nothing else on that. We did get them to cool us down, they liked touching BJ's head, BJ's hand, and blowing in his face. We killed the flash lights, and had shadows darting around in the rafters. The light anomaly appeared again this time in the seating area. The activity began to dramatically decrease for us. So BJ told them, "if you can make three lights light up then Destiny and I will leave." Sure enough three lights sparked to life. On the way down the aisle to the door it grew gradually colder as if we were being escorted to the door. By the time we reached the door it was cold enough for a coat.

By the time BJ and I got downstairs Oscar was ready to do individual interviews for his documentary. I took Speech and Drama in High School, I have goofed off with friends who had camcorders, and etc. But I have never been in a serious setting where I was going to tell the world who I am and what I do. I am a very social person, as well as a very intimately, personal person. I don't like talking about my sensitivity at length, I feel like it makes me look like an attention seeker. I would rather keep my mouth shut than seem like I want lime light. So all in all I can only describe being interviewed as 'NEW'.

After Oscar wrapped up the interviews. Our teams switched places, Cathy, Chris, Dawn, and Marc took the upstairs area of the theater. While John, Tena, BJ, and I took the stage area. That whole area from the stage to the dressing rooms was just eerie. From my stand point as a sensitive, I felt like I was being shoved into a tiny box. Almost like a box made of pressurized air and electricity. We tried to do a Ghost Box session in the far back dressing room, but the air conditioner made it completely impossible. So we decided to go to the back of the stage. In that area behind the curtain all felt uneasy. On the way to the stage I saw a grey mist go into the bathroom. I had who I believe to be Matthew repeating the Barber Shop knock on the metal sheet hanging from the wall. Although BJ and Tena couldn't hear it. I heard it plain as day. We communicated with an entity who called himself Matthew. He said that there were ten of them there. He confirmed what we were told earlier on the K2.

We only had a handful of time left and went into the first dressing room. I will be completely honest everyone hated it, but I LOATHED it. I was on edge the entire time, I couldn't relax, I couldn't stay still. I felt like an animal pacing in a cage. It felt like it was emanating from the bathroom. I tried to walk in the bathroom, but it felt like an invisible wall. It felt like if I tried to force myself through that I would be attacked. So I left it alone. I began wondering if anything inhuman was there. So I asked, "is there anything inhuman?" Everytime I asked Matthew said, "Yes." Everytime I asked if it was demonic, our equipment wouldn't work.

Just to let you know. We come to a location with an intense seriousness about getting a job done. Yet if someone or a group of someone's has set themselves up, we can't help, but take advantage of this. It is a golden moment. A complete free for all. Chris was that very opportunist that night. He waited until we were on that edge of your seat moment to see if our inhuman was a demonic. Not a word I use lightly. We heard a scratching, almost like metal grating against stone. We were a ball of tangible excitement. We asked for it to do it again as a confirmation. Of course we heard the sound again. BJ and I being the analytical people we are were rounding the corner to see what was in the hall. When Chris jumps out with a flash light under his chin like a Camp Counselor at a camp out. He yelled as he bounded in, "Time is up!" Of course we all screamed, even the men shouted. Although I believe BJ would have used me as a human shield if it wasn't Chris and it was an unimaginable from the fifth dimension.

Everyone gathered on the stage for a quick Ghost Box Session which was sensational. Not only did Matthew come through, what I am going to label the "dark energy" came through. A female told John, "I love you." What took the cake was Boosty. John's residential spirit followed him from Oklahoma City all the way to Muskogee. Boosty told us "Hi", called John his "ni**a", that he was "gettin high" with The Roxy's spirits, and told us to "stay cool" when we wrapped up.

In all honesty I felt like a horrible person. Before we wrapped up the Ghost Box session Matthew was begging and pleading for us not to leave him there with the "bad thing". That he wanted to leave. With it being a public place there is not much we could do for him. Although I pray for him on aregular basis and that he will find peace someday if he hasn't already.

Before we left I had a talk with Amy Lynn the city worker who was excited that I confirmed her experiences with my own. I felt really good in that moment that I could help someone like that. To have them know that they are not alone, that they have someone else out there who understands.

After packing everything back up into our vehicles like a magic trick. We all went to the local Denny's and shared what we had individually experienced. Exchanged other personal experiences. We weren't there for more than ten minutes when Cathy heard a whisper from an empty section of the dining area. We finished shoveling food in our faces and then went our seperate ways.

Of course on the way home with John, BJ, and Tena it was nonstop conversation until we hit the storm on the way back to the city.

All I can say is that I really enjoyed myself and can't wait to do it again.

MY CURRENT HOME OKLAHOMA CITY OKLAHOMA

I will not disclose the street or area as in previous posts. For obvious and various reasons. My husband and I are really proud of this house. Because it is the first house that we have ever owned. The first house where our children have a yard to play in, to put a pool in, and have family get togethers. This house means alot to us and we plan on staying for a good while. The house was built in the 1930's and previously belonged to my landlord's deceased mother. Before she passed this was her favorite rental house.

When we first moved in for the first couple of weeks we had no activity. The only thing that was bothersome was the feeling in the girl's bedroom. It felt extremely heavy and oppressive also sort of angry. Almost like a deep, gaping sadness. The feeling only grew stronger at nightfall and through out the night. There were a few pieces of furniture that came with the house that were left by past tenants. A big grey-blue colored four shelved pantry, a giant hexagon shaped wooden table that was in the kitchen, it was later moved into the living room, and eventually put outside for when we cook out. A deep, blue metal shelf in the bathroom, and a grey-blue colored wicker hanging wall shelf in the bathroom. The bottom shelf of the pantry will collapse in on itself if the weight isn't porportioned just right.

So while my husband was at work, I decided to fix the shelf myself. I took the girl's outside with me and decided to look around the shed to find a piece of wood. So I could either just make a new shelf or to use it as a support. I couldn't find anything worth salvaging. I also couldn't go inside the shed due to a ginormous garden spider that made the doorway its home. If my eldest wouldn't have screamed I would have walked into it and went into survival ninja mode. About fifteen minutes after we came in, I was in the kitchen washing dishes, when I began hearing the lid on the washer slamming repeatedly. The bathroom door was shut, so there was no way that it could have been the girls. I opened the door, and the washer machine door was closed. But the washer was vibrating as if the door had just been slammed.

Not too long after that every night for almost a month and a half. At about ten o' clock at night I would hear tappings and bangings on the windows. The back door knob would turn, be knocked on. Same thing with the front door. There were times I thought somebody was trying to break in because I would watch the front door knob violently move like someone was trying to get inside. But nobody was out there. My husband worked the night shift. Who would be that persistent for nearly two months anyways?

But what nearly scared me to death and terrified me. Is after my daughters got their first big girl beds and I was putting them to bed. I finished reading them a bedtime story, and we were singing songs and saying nursery rhymes. We began singing the ABC song when from behind me in front of their bedroom window. I heard what I can only describe as a toneless voice. It had no male or female inflection to it. Sing the other half of the song. The voice also had a mocking lilt to it. I didn't want to scare the girls or acknowledge it. So I decided to sing the song over and see if I could get it to do it again. Sure enough when it got to the middle of the song it did it again. After it was finished my eldest asked me, "Mommy did you hear that? It sang the ABC's." I had them say their prayers and I still decided not to acknowledge it.

Instead I called my mom immediately and asked her what I should do. She told me to go around the house in every room, and pray. To tell it in Jesus' name and with the power of the Holy Spirit that it could not stay. So the next day I went in every room and prayed. Telling it that it could not stay. After that we had not a single bit of activity.

Then after it began getting hot and the lawn needed to be trimmed. We had to be around the shed. After we began going around the shed, is when the activity picked up again. First it was foot steps in the attic, then the washer machine banging again, seeing the shadow of a man, jumping in the attic that is so intense it shakes the walls. My husband tried telling me that it's an animal. Which we do get racoons and the occasional squirrels. But never in my life have I known an animal to make sounds like a human walking, or most definantly, have never heard of an animal maniacally jumping. Unless we have some sort of kangaroo infestation in Oklahoma that I am unaware of.

One night the jumping was so intense. I just couldn't take anymore of it. I was tired of being the only one experiencing it besides my daughter. The only time my husband ever experienced it was when it was like somebody prowling around the house. And that's what he chalked it up to be, was just a prowler. I can't count how many times I called and texted him when that was going on. Before my breaking point. I had been considering what I wanted to do with my life. Then it dawned on me. A straight forward epiphany, "I know quite a bit about the paranormal. I have been dealing with it my whole life. Why not join an investigation team or start my own?" I took a few days to think through it some more.

After thinking about it, I got online, and began doing research on paranormal societies. I grew up knowing about G.H.O.U.L.I. and O.K.P.R.I. , but after second handedly seeing their work. I immediately opted out of those choices. I had remembered hearing about Society of the Haunted. So I looked them up with a few others, and began narrowing them down. Always coming back to Society of the Haunted. Just something about them felt right, I looked up their FaceBook page, and they weren't out bashing other groups. Like so many other investigation teams out causing para drama. They were too busy wrapped up in helping people. Which was a definite bonus.

I put in an application Saturday May 12th, 2012 through their website. Then I received a phone call Monday May 14th, 2012 from Cathy Nance. At first I was nervous because a great majority of the people I have come in contact with in the para community. Are well, pretty much hardbacks. I was really taken aback when we just clicked and began talking. It was so easy just to talk to Cathy, I really don't think we got much of an interview done. The only thing I think we agreed on was to have an investigation conducted later in the week. After explaining to Cathy about all the activity we had been experiencing. She was particulary interested in capturing whatever it was singing the ABC song.

The time leading up to the investigation I was all sorts of excited, giddy, and I wouldn't shut up. I continuously talked my husband and mother-in-law's ears off. Because not only would joining a team personally validate what I have encountered, but also validate the experiences of other people.

Saturday May 19th, 2012 was the day at eight o'clock PM is when the investigation happened. The first person that I met was Mike Ricksecker. In all honesty I thought that he was going to be the staunchly serious and brooding type. But actually he proved me wrong. He was reserved, yet very attentive, and open. I showed him around the property while we waited for the others to arrive. The next person I met was Johnny Longan and his mother Tena. After talking to John I really like him, he's spunky, and ready to have a good time. Tina is such a sweet heart, and is more concerned with others well being than herself. Finally I met Dustin Cupit, he was quiet most of the time up until we started getting a fair amount of activity.

After showing the rest of the team the property and giving them the run down. We decided to start in the girls room around where a majority of the activity occurs. Of course, we each picked a place to sit, and pow wow in the dark. We began asking the basic questions, "What's your name?", "How old are you?", "Do you know you're deceased?", "Can you give us a sign?". We originally broke out the ghost box and something was trying to communicate, but for some reason it couldn't come through. So we decided to do a basic EVP session, during this time John was joking about his weight and was doing the live playback while recording. I don't know if anyone else heard it. But he and I distinctly heard it, a man saying,"Fat ass".

Fifteen minutes or so into the session the room began feeling heavy and had a weight of deep sadness. About this time John began hearing all sorts of things on the recorder. After hitting on some serious topics. With the entities alluding to children being locked in the closet. Mike asked if he could be shown what happened, and he felt somebody touch his arm, and suddenly he felt just overwhelmed with sadness. It upset Mike so much that he had to leave the group and take a break. I began feeling light headed, and my upper body felt tingly with electric pricks.

Then we decided to go out to the shed and see if we couldn't find anything. Also to see if we couldn't stir up some more activity in the house. While we were out there we found old suitcases, broken down furniture, a table with an ICP clown drawn on it, a mildewed Bible, Harlequin romance novels, old television set, carpet, and a Christmas tree. We also found all sorts of paper work from Kansas and Indiana. Drug rehab facilities, alcoholics anonymous, and moneygrams.

We then decided on going into I and my husband's room. This is where we got most of our activity. The EMF detector stayed pretty steady except for the exception of it jumping to three. Which I was holding, while that happened, and that was pretty awesome. We decided to use the K2 as a method for questioning. That to respond "YES" to a question to make the K2 light up. From the answers we received there is a young woman about my age, and two males. One of the males answered a few of my questions, and that was all. The female did most of the talking.

We never really found out her name. Only that she enjoys being here, she likes our family, and wants to continue to be apart of it. This sounds like a nice sentiment and all, but I would much rather her move on. A ghost attachment is a very unhealthy thing. I am also uncomfortable knowing that one of the males plays with my oldest when she stays up at night. I don't approve of that all. As for now I am going to keep an eye on what happens, and there will possibly be a crossing over done in the future.

The day after they left I was getting ready to go to my mom's to pick up the girls. It had been raining on and off that day. So I went into their room to grab their coats. As I entered the room I saw a gray mist in the shape of a woman dash into their closet. I told her that she didn't have to be afraid. Also a candle my husband and I had used that night during the storm was moved from my living room shelf to my dining room table. It wasn't just sat there as if you would walk by and just set it down. It was in the middle of the table and pushed all the way back. As if being put out of reach of the children. Then later on I received an email from Johnny with all of the EVPs he captured. I am extremely proud of the one where the female says his name as clear as a bell, "Johnny." Also the one where you here one of the males say, "dumbshit" and the other male replies with , "fuck yeah." I have been showing them off to anyone who cares to listen.

Nearly a week after they left my husband was at work, all the girls were in bed, and I was on the computer. When I heard a woman about my age talking in our bedroom. I sat at the computer and said, "I can't understand you." The woman replied and something, then my name, and said a few more things. All I could understand was my name. So I replied, "I'm sorry, but I still can't understand you." So she speaks again, this time frustrated, but still the only thing I could understand was my name.

About four days ago I was asleep in bed with my husband. When I woke up at about nearly six AM to someone gently pushing me and before I could fully wake up. I heard a woman say, "Will you ever forgive me?" I don't know what she needed forgiveness for. But I told her that I forgive her.

The latest activity would be today. Whilst typing this blog entry I have been interrupted by walking above me, what sounds like a chair dragging, shuffling, a wooden box being dragged, and knocking. I think they know I am talking about them, and want to be included. Or just to annoy me.
